Beautiful vintage Tiffany FAVRILE gold iridescent Art Glass salt cellar with a gracefully scalloped upper edge. The vibrant gold iridescent glass body is stunning with highlights of purple, blue and green iridescence. Marked with etched signature L. This salt cellar is pictured on page 22, Illustration #42 of the book. By Sandra Jzyk & Nina Robertson. Measures 1" high and 2 5/8" in diameter. This nice salt cellar is in excellent condition with no noted flaws. Used as a display only from personal estate.
"Favrile" glass was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894 and along with Frederick Carder's "Aurene" glass made for Steuben, this glass set the highest standard for iridescent glass at the turn of the 20th century.
