This bowl is very large measuring approx. 8 in diameter as you can see in the photos. The vibrant dark blue iridescent glass body is stunning with strong highlights of purple, gold and green iridescence.
Favrile glass was patented by Louis Comfort Tiffany in 1894 and along with Frederick Carder's "Aurene" glass made for Steuben, this glass set the highest standard for iridescent glass at the turn of the 20th century. As you can see there is a small chip on the outside of the bowl with short crack on either side. 1/8" long and 1/16" high. Very small in comparison to the size of the bowl and doesn't take away anything from its beauty.
As you can see from the photos you cannot see any signs of the chip or damage from the inside of the bowl. Please view photos and make your own assessment before purchasing. Other than this the rest of the bowl looks to be in amazing condition. This is a beautiful piece and is one of a kind! Get it while you can. Makes a great gift for the holidays!
